Anthem's community manager has posted a heartfelt letter in response to a fan letter that has gained a lot of traction on the game's subreddit. Darokaz, the community manager, took the time to address each point that was made in an effort to clarify BioWare's stance on Anthem moving forward, and the response has been largely positive.

Though we, among many others, are currently enjoying BioWare's newest IP Anthem, that doesn't mean the launch went off without a hitch. From bugs, to shifting focus, the community has been very lively with their feedback. The studio has been very attentive and quick with their patches, but Community Manager Jesse Anderson had a more meaningful message to add.

Afterward, Irving went on to explain the issue and how BioWare is working to fix it. He states that as of the next patch, the “backtracking fog walls” in the Temple of Scar and Heart of Rage strongholds will be disabled. Fog Walls to prevent players from going too far forward will remain in place, but by removing these backtracking walls, Irving anticipates that the Anthem fan will “almost never run into this again.” According to Irving, this will make its way into Anthem alongside bug squashes and QOL changes. "To start, things used to be a lot friendlier here for dev team members who normally don’t talk on social channels or forums," he wrote. "They could answer questions, give information and know that they aren’t going to have people getting upset at them. Why would a dev team member take time away from working on the next update to post when they know it’s likely to be met with hostile replies, or they get flamed because can’t answer other questions that players are asking?"

Another recent controversy had to do with perceived gaps in Anthem's patch notes. Update 1.0.3, for example, included a number of accidental changes, and some players felt that additional changes and perceived nerfs went unreported in the patch notes. Anderson maintained that if anything is missing from patch notes, it's not because it was omitted intentionally.

BioWare's big new live game Anthem didn't explode in the right way; instead of rocketing to the stars, it's engines failed and it crashed to the ground quite hard. Now the fanbase is fed up and have filled the game's subreddit with tons of posts about loot fixes, bugs and glitches, and lots of missing features. This has transformed the game into something that's more fun to talk about and gawk at than to actually play. This has been demoralizing on the developers, who typically stay out of big conversations to avoid the fusillade of frustrated messages. But BioWare isn't ready to give up on Anthem just yet.
